Ah! The MGB GT. the icon of your youth in the swinging sixties, when you used to meet at the 'Dog and Duck with like minded petrol head chums and drool over sports cars in the paddock, sorry car park. The MGB is the archetypal British Sports car, as British as warm beer and fish and chips. Production lasted some 28 years before finally departing the scene in 1980. In later years the MGB fueled the growth of a remarkable industry geared to maintaining, improving and creating the breed. Yes, some people sneer that the B is boring but this is nonsense brought about by the British fear of success. The MGB deserves to be at the top of the shopping list for anyone looking for a classic sports car.
The highly presentable example we offer here, was, according the car's heritage certificate built at the MG Abingdon factory between October the 13th and 15th, 1972. The car was then dispatched to the Lathams the MG dealers for Liecester. The heritage certificate confirms that the car was built with painted wire wheels and overdrive. The car was first registered on the 7th of November 1972 to a gentleman residing in Leicester. The car was spend the rest of it's life in the Midlands. The very large history file that accompanies the car contains all the name of the eight people who have owned the car from new. The last custodian owning the car for the last eleven years. The MG was extensively restored between 2007 and 2008 and included the engine being rebuilt, a photographic record of the restoration is in the history file. During the last eleven years the car has been treated to gaz shock absorbers, polybushed suspension, a Motalita steering wheel, new seats and electronic ignition. Whilst we not describe the car as concourse we would say that it is not far off.
