We are very pleased to offer a super rare and very collectable 2001 Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500. Finished in the ever popular metallic Tahiti blue with contrasting Platinum Silver roof, bonnet stripes and four spot lamps. This example has only covered 56k in 23 years and is accompanied with a stamped service book, detailed service history folder and previous MOT certificates. This example also has the very sought after full length electric sunroof. Rover launched the 500 in late 2000 at the very end of Mini production and exclusively only 500 Cooper Sport 500 Minis were made. They have are full Cooper Sport spec and they also have a plaque in the glovebox to remind you that you own a very special Mini indeed. Our 500 has a certificate from the 500 register and it is confirmed as being number 317. These very rare and sought after Minis seldom come up for sale so this a fantastic opportunity.
On the road this Mini drives very well indeed. The 1275cc engine is smooth with excellent power delivery and the gearbox is precise. The brakes have been uprated to Mini Sport 4 pot callipers and it has a Maniflow exhaust so it goes and stops very well and has a subtle Mini burble. This is an MPi Mini which stands for multi point fuel injection, all you need to do is turn the key and go, Further features include a drivers airbag, side impact beams and alarm and immobiliser. MPi Minis offer all the Classic Mini charm with a modern twist and thanks to taller gearing they cruise with ease at Motorway speeds. At the touch of a button the whole experience is completely transformed with the fantastic electric sunroof, the full wind in the hair experience is on offer and makes Mini motoring even more fun.
This 500 has a well presented interior, full Sport spec with Black leather with Platinum silver inserts, Aluminium 6 clock dash with Magnolia dials and an uprated Sony CD/ AUX with a 12v adapter. This 500 also has rear seat belts, third level brake light and boarded boot.
This Cooper has a solid shell with the correct vented sills, solid floors and subframes. This is an unrestored example and it wears its vintage well. The paintwork is very well presented with only minor age related blemishes. As you can see form the images this is a fantastic looking example that is super rare and very desirable.
The 500 is fully checked, driven and serviced and has a full MOT so is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
