Modern day heroes, there have been a few, but not many made an impact on landing like the Lister 666. Every test it went into, people raved about the car, the theatre, the noise, the outright speed and for me, the best trait, is the body control. The 200kg weight saving on the car makes such a difference, the car is more compliant and better mannered than the standard V8 F-Type by quite a margin.

Evil looks, unholy noises from the titanium exhaust and the upgraded and adjustable coil-over suspension make the Lister the true driver’s machine the F-type deserves to be. Not just great at long distance, but more lithe, eager to change direction and with the straight-line speed to destroy almost anything. The standard cars aren’t slow, but the Lister touch just makes the car volcanic, it turns on with an eruption of noise and from the moment you’ve woken the beast, you’re aware of just how capable it is. Not just a Jaguar in a pretty frock, the car handles, grips and feels every bit as special as you’d hope for.

Being number 27 or 27 produced so far, this could well be the last and newest LFT 666 you can buy without having the conversion done yourself. As per the images, the car is in perfect order throughout, fully PPF’d and resplendent in ammonite grey. The Lister wheels really set the car off and don’t make the car ride harshly at all, due to the reduction in un-sprung mass, the cars composure on the rough stuff is quite astonishing.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:

This 666 started life in 2015 as a very nicely spec’d 5. 0 V8 F-Type, with heated front screen, steering wheel, seats, full panoramic roof etc… But all of that was added to in the best way by Lister in 2023. Power for the earlier conversions is actually above the targeted 666bhp and is normally around the 680 – 685bhp mark, which quite frankly is wild! This car had the full gambit, not just a pick and mix of components, wheels, titanium exhaust, interior, suspension, engine management, supercharger pulleys, the lot.

Being built in 2023, it still has the remaining warranty (5 years) with Lister too, which is peace of mind for the new owner. It has only been serviced by Lister since the conversion too, so you know it has been in great hands, backed with a wealth of motor racing history behind them. It also allays any fears of the overall mileage too, as it is still covered by a factory warranty with Lister

So, the numbers then? It is truly incredibly fast. Real world, useable power, it just grips and grips. All of that punch put down calmly by the AWD system, so you can extract the best from it without fearing for your life, it is a very well-rounded product, that’s for sure! Hat’s off Lister. So where is the drawback? There really isn’t one, it can average 32mpg on a run too, so it’s not even uneconomical!

With the possibility of sub 11 second quarter miles, you’ll be as at home on the drag strip as you will on the autobahns and B-roads. For the money, what else could you find that’s this rare, good looking, fast and sounds this good? You’ll be looking for a while I bet. It even comes supplied with the V88 LFT numberplate too. What a car!
