Description
VOLKSWAGEN COMBI T1 modified type "SAMBA" 23 Windows 1974 Made in Brazil Technical control French registration Chassis N° : BH354761 Engine N° : BH658251 Gearbox N° : BA1308 Very nice colour combination for this modified T1 combi type "Samba" with its 23 windows, sunroof, double roof rack and ladder. The vehicle has been completely restored down to the last detail. Nothing has been left to chance, both mechanically and aesthetically. The bodywork is brilliant and the paintwork has a very good finish, the body having been completely dismantled and placed on a spindle. The floorboards, chassis and wheel arches are all new. All the doors and windows are functional, all the seals are new and the panels are well aligned. The front and rear bumpers have also been changed. The double roof rack and ladder are original zinc parts, which show slight pitting due to age. The white and havana upholstery gives the car a very elegant interior. A sofa bed has been fitted in place of the last two rows of seats, allowing the vehicle to be used in 'adventurer' mode. All the accessories are, of course, new. The sunroof provides plenty of light into the cabin, and the front windows can also be tilted for a resolutely 'camper' look. On the mechanical side, it's a very pleasant surprise! The engine has been completely rebuilt at Le Mans by a specialist. Segmentation, connecting rod, pistons - everything has been gone through with a fine-tooth comb.
A simple test drive is all it takes to see how healthy and dynamic it is! Clutch, steering and brakes are all new, and it's clear to see that they all perform well. The choice of quality parts was the right one. No play in the steering, precise braking, cruising at 110 km/ h on the motorway without forcing it. A delight to drive! The tyres are also new. For the purposes of the sale and in the interests of transparency, the vehicle was presented to a VW restoration specialist in the region, who was also able to see that, for once, we are dealing with a meticulous restoration! Too often the emphasis is placed on the paintwork in particular, neglecting the chassis and mechanical parts. Visible on deck Test drive possible By appointment
