The FZR 1000 has a 1002cc liquid-cooled engine with five valves per cylinder, three inlets and two exhausts. The engine has a 45° inclined cylinder block, larger valves, and 37mm BDB Mikuni CV carburettors. The FZR 1000 has a five-speed sequential close ratio gearbox, a wet, multi-plate clutch, and an O-ring chain and sprockets for final drive. It has an aluminium Deltabox perimeter type frame that's made up of cast and extruded sections that are welded together. The frame is lighter than a steel frame, reducing the weight by around 40%.
This bike is the later “Foxeye” model and is one of the last FZR’s produced before being replaced by the Thunderace in 1996. It is in very good overall condition, starts and runs very well, and has just passed a new MOT. It has had a few upgrades over the years with later front calipers and braided brake lines, a Remus Grand Prix aluminium end can and Juroca alloy rear sets. Other than that, it appears to be in fairly standard specification. It has 2 keys, V5 and a number of previous MOTs.
