This is the 9th of only 11 Lola Mk3's built and was sold new to well known privateer and BOAC Pilot Hugh Dibley for his 1961 racing season.

Driven to victory at Goodwood’s 47th Members Meeting in 1961 with Dizzy Addicott, claiming the first ever win for a rear engined Lola race car, and also driven to 2nd place by Hugh Dibley himself at the 48th Members Meeting at Goodwood later in 1961. Fitted with an increased capacity Holbay tuned 109E engine and driven by Dibley in the Lewis-Evans Trophy race for Formula 1 cars at Brands Hatch in October 1961, making this not only the first Lola every to race in Formula 1 but the first Ford powered car as well.

Driven to victory in the 1962 North West Coast Formula Junior Championship by Dutch/ Canadian Ernie de Vos.

Meticulously restored to its October 1961 “Lewis Evans Trophy” Formula 1 specification, by Simon Hadfield for renowned Lola historian David Pratley.

Successfully campaigned by HGPCA Chairman Barry Cannell both with the HGPCA and at Goodwood before being purchased by its current owner in 2013.
