Launched in 1997 to commemorate British Racing Motors' (BRM) success in Formula 1 in the 1950s, 60s and 70s including winning the championship with Graham Hill. Based on the top of the line Rover 200 Vi with its 1. 8 litre engine producing 143BHP. The BRM was limited to 750 cars all finished in British Racing Green with satin silver accents and orange trim to the front bumper in a throwback to the livery of the BRM F1 cars of the 60s. Also featuring a red quilted leather interior, larger wheels, sports suspension, and individual badging.
Here we have a great example of the Rover 200 BRM. To those in the know, you will know all about these cars but if you don’t… there were only 750 built, which were all numbered and this one is number 44, hence the number plate of ‘N44 BRM’ which is a great plate and looks amazing on the car. They were all built in the same specification and colour, and cut a dash when they were launched as they looked very different from any other Rover with their individual colour and that beautiful interior - again individual to the BRM.
This example comes to us from an avid collector who is changing and thinning his collection, or so he says as I suspect he will buy some more cars at a future sale! The Rover was driven to us with no dramas, and it presents very well. It has a large amount of paperwork and comes with an MOT until June 2025, so is ready to go and enjoy either as an interesting daily driver or that something special for the weekend shows and drive outs. The BRM comes with its spare keys and original book pack, which coupled with the large older history tells you that a lot of money and time has been spent and it shows. If you are in the market for one of these, this is the one.
