Following on from the huge success of the first and second generation Toyota Supra through the 1980s, the third generation Supra would continue in its predecessor's footsteps to become a sports car as well as a comfortable GT. The new streamlined body of the coupe sits on the Toyota Soarer platform keeping the rear-wheel drive layout. New aluminium lightweight double wishbone suspension keeps the car stable in the corners.
The Supra was available with either a four-cylinder 2. 0 litre, a 2. 5 litre straight-six or the 3. 0 straight-six, which would become the 3. 0i Turbo a year later. Producing 231BHP and 240 lb-ft of torque, with this new found power, the Supra was propelled from 0-60MPH in an impressive 6. 1 seconds.
