It made its way back to England and was acquired by Mr. J. P. of Dorset who in 1988 commissioned a ground-up restoration by internationally recognized Red Jolley Coachbuilding and McKenzie-Guppy & Sons with invoices and photos on file from both companies, the restoration was completed in 1998. It had been restored in dark blue with cream leather upholstery and matching beige hood and carpets. Mr J. P. kept the car until late 1998, the next owner was Mr. A. B of Somerset, before the acquisition by the present English owner in 2019.
It has undergone a comprehensive mechanical check-up and repaint in scarlet red. It will be a welcome participant at events and tours where its stunning appearance will win entry to exclusive concours alongside its expensive supercharged eights.
