In 2002, Ford launched the Focus RS, returning those famous letters to one of its cars for the first time since the Ford Escort RS Cosworth. The new Focus RS was inspired by Colin McRae's WRC rally exploits and featured a 2-litre Duratec RS engine with an advanced turbocharging system and oil-spray cooled pistons to achieve more power - which eventually peaked at 215bhp and 0-60mph in 6. 4 seconds. The chassis was developed and a Quaife torque-biasing differential (when you turned into a corner and applied the power, it dug in like no other front-drive car to make the Focus remarkably quick across country) fitted to ensure optimal front-wheel drive tractability. Suspension was by uprated offset coil springs with Sachs Racing dampers whilst stopping power was provided by Brembo brakes. The cabin was competition-inspired and featured leather and Alcantara Sparco seats. Only sold in Imperial Blue, the exterior shared many styling cues with its rally sibling and even used custom 18'' O. Z. Racing alloy wheels.
This Focus RS is currently showing 53, 000 miles and is in lovely condition. We also have the full book pack, complete with the service booklet containing 5 stamps. Tastefully modified and now producing 340 bhp with all the parts supplied to return the car to standard if you choose to. A bundle of invoices for parts and maintenance are supplied with the car.
Outside the car presents superbly well, the Imperial Blue paintwork is in remarkable condition for its age, and Silver OZ alloy wheels really offset the car. The mileage is commensurate with the interior which appears to show no obvious scuffs, marks or tears in the upholstery and minimal wear on the steering wheel and gear stick. It truly is a lovely place to sit.
This Ford Focus RS is frighteningly quick and handles superbly well, it is so much fun to drive. Why not treat yourself to the car with endless enjoyment. Look after it and keep the mileage sensible, and you will surely make money on this one too.
