Description
Who is still familiar with the brand N. A. W. (Norddeutsche Automobil-Werke)? This respectable manufacturer was located in the middle of Hameln/ Germany and produced cars until 1929. Burkard Manufactories built many of their models, including the Sperber (Sparrowhawk) 6/ 20, a successful car with solid 20 PS. After World War I, Walter von Selve bought the company and continued manufacturing successfully. The engines were made in their own factory, Bass und Selve in Altena/ Germany.
Our N. A. W. Sperber (Sparrowhawl) 6/ 20 was purchased in 1914, by Josef Frank, a winery owner from Bingerbrück/ Rhein. That is where the classic car was regularly driven until the mid-1990s and then retired when the owner’s wife was looking for something more modern. To this day, this rare car has only had four owners. This Sperber (Sparrowhawk) is a sensational original with its authentic 1913 lacquer and interior design (for the most part). Its technology is dated but functioning and the car is immediately ready to go. This rare and special car is a must have for collectors of rare pre-1914 German brands.
