Description
The Maserati GranSport was introduced in 2004 and retained the elegant design language of Maserati but added aerodynamic improvements, including a revised front bumper, rear spoiler, and side skirts. The interior featured premium materials such as carbon fiber accents, leather, and Alcantara upholstery, creating a more driver-focused environment.
This model marked a period of revitalization for Maserati under the ownership of Ferrari, emphasizing its Italian heritage. Therefore, under the hood, is a Ferrari engine, known as Tipo F136. The 4. 2-liter V8 fitted to the Gransport puts out 400 hp, capable of propelling the car from 0 to 100 km/ h just under 5 seconds with a top speed of 300 Km/ h. Combined with the lightweight construction and the Cambiocorsa automated manual gearbox, the Grandsport is a very capable performer on twisty roads or even on the track.
This Gransport is a bit more special than the remaining examples, as this car was made for and owned by David Coulthard! The drivers of the Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso teams took delivery of four Maserati Gransport for transportation during the 2006 F1 season offered by Karner & Grossegger Autmobil Gmbh.
The Gransport offered for sale in Touring Grey Metallic is a 2006 model and was first registered in Portugal in 2008 after leaving Coulthard’s ownership. Only 2640 Gransports were ever produced, making this a very rare sportscar and also a very interesting collectors piece due to its provenance and connection to the F1 lore
