Willi Klee, born on December 13th, 1922, was responsible for the Adler RS 250 as a factory racing mechanic. After the closure of Adler motorcycle production in 1957, "little Willi" continued to look after his RS models and was able to achieve numerous best times and victories. Around ten years after production ended, Klee was still so convinced of the machine's potential that he built and homologated the RS 250 described here on his own. The first very dominant Yamaha Twins were a 1:1 copy of the Adler 250, which spurred Klee all the more on to implement his knowledge and experience in his project. Not least thanks to the efforts of Reinhard Scholtis (the flying pencil), the project was completed and the RS was successfully used by former factory drivers, among others. In the 1980s, Klee sold the RS to a racing friend from Germany who, as an expert on these motorcycles, maintained the Adler and used it at historic racing events. The Adler has an impressive 38 hp at the rear wheel. It has a number of racing trophies, a whole folder of old correspondence, maintenance records from the 1980s and a VFV vehicle passport with the REG. No.: -824- LFD-No.: 00207.
