It is often said that each decade received the Porsche 911 it deserved and yet it remains today the only sports car that still retains styling elements that are identifiable 60 years on. Launched in 1994, the 993 Series marked the end of air-cooled 911 production and Porsche’s engineers redesigned their standard-bearing model from the ground-up, to such an extent that only around 20% of its parts were carried over from the previous generation. British designer, Tony Hatter’s, penmanship effortlessly combined subtlety and road presence for a changing demographic with an expansive option list to match the individual’s enthusiasm at a time when the right image was deemed as important as performance.
On offer here is a 'C16' UK-supplied right-hand drive 993 Cabriolet fitted with the desirable manual gearbox. First registered in June 1995, it has covered less than 57, 000 miles since then and has clearly been well looked after, with the most recent service in September 2024 by Sam Lander Porsche Engineering, ensuring that the car is ready for its next lucky owner.
The 911 is accompanied by the original owners book pack and service book in their original leather wallet and a selection of maintenance and service history invoices. The Porsche has been looked after by a mixture of Porsche main dealers in its early years and in more recent times, by independent specialists such as Project Nine, Tom Ferguson and Sam Lander Porsche Engineering.
Finished in Iris Blue Metallic, the car sits on 17" Porsche-crested ‘Cup 2’ alloy wheels and the comprehensive specification also includes a deployable rear spoiler, electric folding convertible roof, tinted windscreen, wind deflector, electrically adjustable hardback sports seats and a trip computer. The original radio has been replaced with a modern JVC audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The eagle-eyed amongst you will also see that the interior has been professionally retrimmed in blue and cream quilted leather, with cream Porsche crests embroidered on the seats’ headrests.
