Here we have a very fine and tidy example of the 5th generation of the highly regarded Toyota Celica. Many would say that this is possibly the best of them all, due to the build quality, race history and performance - all in all, a great package. This Celica was first registered on 5/ 10/ 1990 to its first owner by Wadham Kenning of Woking and according to the service book, which is accompanied by its original full book pack, it was looked after them for serving for a long time. There are 13 service stamps from the suppling dealer - a lovely history to have. This is backed up by a host of invoices and receipts from throughout its life, as well as a collection of older MOTs which sit very nicely with the current one valid until April 2025.
The paperwork continues with details of the Celica timeline and various copies of press releases from Toyota regarding the launch of the car when new. Again, a great piece of history and something that demonstrates the way this car has been cared for over the years. It even has a CD containing a PDF of the workshop manual. The specification appears to be as it left the factory and not “modernised” in any way - again a great indication that it has been cherished - and it sits on a recent set of new matching tyres, and has all the factory toys that Toyota gave you in the day. The vendor has provided us with the following summary:
“First registered October 1990. Sold with original book pack including service book with 13 stamps. Finished in Blue Mica with blue interior. Features the original Toyota radio cassette player, pop up headlights, headlamp washers, headlamp levelling, central locking, electric windows, electric aerial, electric sliding / tilting sunroof - all which work. There is a small number of bills for work undertaken over the years. Serviced by owner at 70, 784 miles with new radiator, thermostat, air filter, oil filter, spark plugs, engine oil, gearbox oil and filter. New battery and two new rear wheel bearings and two new rear tyres. Comes with two keys, workshop manual (on disc) and original toolkit.”
