The Land Rover Defender - Universally loved for it’s timeless style, rugged design and versatility. In continuous production for 67 years, and over 2 Million Units were made - But not all 90’s are created equal, and this particular car completely rebuilt in 2018 by ‘Engine 710’ in Edinburgh boasts an exceptional specification, and having covered very few miles since it’s rebuild this car truly is a ‘classic’ that is equally at home off road or for daily duties for it’s new owner!
Exterior
Many believe the Defender 90 has always offered the best proportions of the Defender line up - This car was stripped back to bare metal and painted in the beautiful ‘Firenze Red’, a striking colour in the sunlight that contrasts well with all of the black details throughout. Unmarked wheels in black continue this theme, and fitted throughout are ‘Optimill’ premium security hinges (Doors, bonnet etc) also in black. The paintwork shines brilliantly and has been ceramic coated to keep it in exceptional condition. There are no scuffs or dents to note, but as with all Defenders there are small areas of bubbling in a few areas upon close inspection.
Interior
Inside, this Defender is not what you would expect from the traditionally ‘Utilitarian’ Defender - Beautiful heated ‘Exmoor Trim Elise Mk2’ Leather Seats are supportive and comfortable, a ‘MOMO’ steering wheel is mounted to an ‘Optimill’ Quick Release Boss, and Alcantara headlining make this a luxurious place to be. An ‘Exmoor Premium XL’ Cubby box adds to the storage space, while an aftermarket headunit with ‘JL Audio’ speakers take care of the multimedia. The car has electric windows, and the rear seats look to never have been sat in! The interior is in exceptional condition with no marks to note.
Mechanical
Mechanically, the TD5 engine benefits from an ‘Alive Stage 2’ map, and pulls strong through all gears. The gearbox is direct and easy to use, and the vehicle also benefits from a recent brake overhaul including discs, pads and calipers. Suspension wise, the car sports the ‘Old Man EMU (OME)’ suspension lift kit, improving clearance and road holding.
