The Alfa Romeo GTV 916, introduced in 1994, represents a significant chapter in Alfa Romeo's storied history. Designed by Enrico Fumia at Pininfarina, the GTV 916 embodied the brand's passion for elegant design and dynamic performance. Available in both coupe and convertible configurations, the GTV 916 featured striking lines and a distinctive wedge-shaped profile. Underneath its sleek exterior, the GTV 916 was equipped with a range of powerful engines, including the iconic Busso V6, delivering exhilarating performance and a soulful exhaust note. Throughout its production run until 2005, the GTV 916 garnered a dedicated following among enthusiasts, cementing its status as a timeless classic in Alfa Romeo's lineup.
We are delighted to offer this 2000 Alfa Romeo GTV T-Spark 16v in Alfa Rosso with black leather. First registered in April 2000, this is a Phase 2a car produced before Alfa had to comply with Euro 3 emissions standards. It has had only 2 former registered keepers and shows a low recorded mileage of just under 39, 000 miles. We can never guarantee a mileage as accurate but with MOTs going back to 2006 and the general condition, we have no reason to doubt it. Sadly, the early service history has been mislaid but there is a big bundle of invoices from 2007 to date showing 15 services - virtually annual servicing. In addition to that, the all-important cambelt was replaced last May.
It is almost an unwritten rule that Italian cars look best in red and the GTV is no exception. It is a design that we believe has dated exceptionally well and this example sits on what are arguably the best wheels. It is pleasingly unmodified save for an upgraded exhaust which both improves the sound from the perky Twin Spark engine and, being stainless steel, will not need replacing again. Inside is purposeful as you would want an Italian sports car to be, with black leather seats and a driver-focussed dash sporting the evocative round vents and three dials in the centre. The interior presents very nicely with just a little wear to the gear knob and driver’s seat bolsters. It does benefit from a more modern, face off stereo but other than that looks to be all original. (An OEM stereo is included if originality is your thing.) The specification was high on these Alfas, with air conditioning, electric windows and electric mirrors.
The car comes with V5C, full book pack, current and old MOTs, bundle of invoices, 4 keys (including the plastic code card), an original stereo, touch up paint and locking wheel nut key.
Alfa Romeos have a charm and charisma that you only get with Italian cars but at a price point way below the likes of Ferrari and Maserati. Many GTVs have had hard lives and are beginning to fall by the wayside, making this car stand out as very appealing example and a great potential investment.
