This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2024 - Motorcycles on Sunday the 10th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
The original Edward Turner-designed four-cylinder 'superbike' launched in 1930 as a 500cc OHC fitted into a conventional Ariel 500cc frame
By 1935, it's capacity was 1, 000cc with a totally revised engine layout including dry sump, one-piece crankshaft and a Solex carburettor
Previously sold by ourselves one year ago as a restoration project in a disassembled and "barn find" condition, as shown in the photos
The buyer then commenced a year long extensive restoration and engine rebuild using many new parts
The bike is now in beautiful running condition and has completed only 20 miles since the work was finished
The list of new parts is extensive and includes stainless steel wheels, engine parts, connecting rods, pistons and cylinder head, wiring harness and rebuilt dynamo, backed up by a plethora of receipts
Also included is a brand new AMAL carburettor complete with correct cables as a spare
Supplied with the current V5C and paperwork from the restoration
