This Mark 4 Golf GTi 20v is a bit of a unicorn given the low mileage of under 18, 000 miles from new.
Finished in satin silver with contrasting black cloth, the car presents very well.
Originally registered on 26th March 1999 to Mr Alan Bate at Hartwell’s in Warrington at a cost of £17, 615, the VW still sports its original dealer number plates front and rear, Hartwell tax disc holder and Hartwell key ring. A copy of the original purchase invoice is on file showing that Mr Bate also specified air conditioning and metallic paint at factory fitted options when he bought the car.
Mr Bate kept the car until he sadly passed away, when ownership of the car passed to his son. The V5 therefore only shows 1 previous owner.
The exterior of the Golf is in great condition, as you’d expect given the mileage, as is the interior. There are only the very smallest of marks on the paint, and the interior is virtually as new bar some minor marks on the interior plastics. The 5-spoke alloys are all in good condition and the Golf benefits from matching new tyres.
The accompanying documentation is very impressive - MOT certificates back to 2002 are present that confirm the low mileage and light use of the car over the last 20+ years. We also have a selection of bills and invoices back to 2003 for work carried out over the years including the all-important timing belt and water pump replacement in 2023. The original book pack is also present, which includes a stamped service book containing 8 stamps, tax discs between 2000 and 2015, quick reference guide and Volkswagen pen.
The 20v 1. 8-litre engine sounds in good health and the Golf drove well for our video. In addition to the large amount of documentation the Golf also comes with a spare key.
Overall, a low mileage, low owner modern classic ready to go!
