1977 Lancia S1 Beta Montecarlo Fixed Head Coupe 2. 0 5-Speed Manual. 57, 000 Miles and finished in Rosso Monza Red with contrasting grey and red interior and original factory ‘Bowtie’ alloy wheels. An original UK supplied car and first registered in April 1977.
The Pininfarina designed SI Montecarlo has always been a pretty rare car, especially in the UK, with records showing that of the 5, 635 built only 455 were RHD Coupes and of those not many have survived.
Extensively restored over a number of years with the body and paint restoration being completed in 2017. Further upgrades and works have been carried out more recently at a cost of £4, 500 and have included a brake servo bypass (a common modification on Montecarlo’s) new timing belt, water pump and comprehensive service (Jan 2024) and the fitting of a X-01 road and track exhaust system, that sounds wonderful.
Supplied complete with a detailed History File containing numerous restoration and parts invoices, original Lancia workshop and parts manuals, current V5C, spare wheel mounted neatly in the engine bay and 2 sets of keys. In addition, the Montecarlo comes with a number of spares including a set of twin trumpet Weber carburettors and manifold to convert the factory single carburettor to a twin set-up if so desired in the future.
The mid-engined 2. 0 Twin-Cam Montecarlo also offers a wonderful driving experience and performance that would be hard to match in many comparable classics of the period. This particular survivor still presents in lovely restored condition throughout and is testament to the high standard of its restoration.
Finally after recently watching the very last Grand Tour we can say that if its good enough for Jeremy Clarkson its good enough for us!
