Description
Jaguar MK2 manual overdrive, first registered March 1964 and supplied by Henlys of London. Finished in the desirable colour of Opalescent Silver Blue with Grey leather complimented by new chrome wire wheels and tyres. This is a matching numbers car and comes with a history file and Heritage certificate. This has to be one of the best driving 3. 8 MK2's I have driven in a while, with plenty of power and a glorious exhaust note. A very attractive car in a desirable colour scheme and fitted with rare reclining front seats. A MK2 that stands well and has nice touches, such as the slightly wider wheels and tyres for that more aggressive stance and sporting touches with bonnet straps and Coombes rear spats. Fitted with 123 electronic ignition and bell mouth carbs, which give the engine that lovely throaty sound. Overall a great value 3. 8 that not only looks great but sounds and drives even better.
PAINT & BODY....
Paint and panel fit are all very presentable and the car presents very well throughout.
CHROME....
All the chrome presents well and is all intact and undamaged.
INTERIOR....
The interior is mostly original, nevertheless is still a nice place to be. All the wood is in good order with just the right amount of patina. The head lining is unmarked and excellent. The instrumentation is all in good order. The leather is all original along with the door cards and presents well with no tears or damaged stitching. Carpets are all in good order.
MECHANICALS....
Mechanically the car feels strong and eager to please, with a free revving engine that has a nice throaty note. The engine starts promptly and settles down to a nice even idle, with excellent oil pressure.
GEARBOX/ OVERDRIVE & CLUTCH....
The gearbox operates just as it should with no untoward noise. The overdrive is smooth and positive in operation, as is the clutch.
DRIVETRAIN....
Brakes and suspension are all in good order throughout. Brand new chrome wire wheels, spinners and Blockley tyres
SERVICE HISTORY....
This lovely Jaguar has been rightly cherished by previous owners, having spent twenty years (1993- 2013 ) in Japan, where it was thoroughly maintained and serviced ( with service records ). The car covered only 7, 522 miles over these two decades. Since the car returned to our shores it has been used sparingly since.
