After the Corvette's 1955 introduction of a V8 and a three-speed manual, GM turned its focus on improving the rest of the car. An extensive redesign brought both increased comfort and improved handling, while the now-standard V8 solidified the car's claim of being the country's first sports car. The 1956 Corvette was the first to feature coves behind the front wheels, a characteristic that remained through the rest of the first-generation car's styling.

Inside, roll-up windows replaced the highly criticized side curtains. Power operation for the windows and the top were options, though both proved fairly rare. Exterior door handles and a much higher quality top improved ease of use. One could also order a removable hardtop to create a coupe-like experience in colder climates. All together, the adjustments ensured the Corvette kept its place in GM's portfolio.

The magnificent 1956 Chevrolet Corvette 265/ 225hp Roadster featured here is finished in gorgeous Arctic Blue over a Beige interior with a matching power-folding convertible top and Arctic Blue removable hardtop. This exquisite Corvette has been restored to an extremely high level and is a recipient of multiple awards , including the coveted Duntov Mark of Excellence (one of only 1, 166 Corvettes to have earned this honor) as well as multiple Top-Flight awards and a Bloomington Gold Certification. Because of its high-level restoration and ensuing awards, I personally believe the investment potential of this iconic Corvette will grow beyond your imagination. We proudly offer this remarkable Chevrolet to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best at an investment price!
