Description
1932 Riley 9 'Plus Ultra' Series Monaco
(Previously supplied by us)
A remarkably original and well-maintained example, first registered in January 1932 but almost certainly of 1931 manufacture.
A particularly attractive Riley Saloon with fabric coachwork first registered in Stockport and the original supplier's plaque remains on the dashboard.
Finished in green and black and retaining its original dark green leather trim, the interior woodwork is in excellent condition. There is a buff log book dating back to 1946. This car was off the road from 1959 until 1973.
The car was recommissioned and the carpets were replaced and indicators installed and the Autovac replaced with an SU electric pump for reliability. The radiator has been re-cored, the magneto has been modified to operate with coil ignition – the conversion is housed in the original magneto casing.
A set of Blockley tyres have recently been fitted.
For a Riley enthusiast seeking a truly authentic example of this iconic model, this car is worthy of close inspection and is a car to preserve and cherish.
