This very original Cortina GL of 1979 vintage has been in its late custodian’s care since March 1983. We suspect that it was initially a much loved member of the family but latterly, its owner’s poor health meant that the vehicle was not monitored in its garage storage and the condition has deteriorated. However, it should prove to be a good project for a Cortina enthusiast.
The body now has general surface rust, the rear valance lower panel will need a repair and the chrome bumpers will need attention. The factory vinyl roof however seems good subject to a clean. The dashboard appears to be in good order. The upholstery has extensive mould growth but may just need a very thorough clean, it does not appear to be terribly worn. Likewise, the headlining should clean up. We cannot be sure of the condition of the mechanics and do not know when the Cortina was last run.
