Description
Here we have a late 2005 registered 987. 1 Cayman 3. 4 S, fresh from a full Hartech engine rebuild carried out in May 2024. LJ55WWF has covered 77, 340 miles in the hands of 5 owners, and has an enviable service history and significant expenditure in recent years, resulting in a Cayman S that is mechanically as good as it can be given the age of the car.
LJ55WWF was first registered in December 2005, and was specified with the following factory options – Basalt Black metallic paint, black extended leather interior, PCM2 Porsche Communications Management, PASM Porsche Active Suspension Management, climate control, rear parking sensors, BOSE Surround Sound, 6-disc CD changer, Bi-xenon Lighting system, heated seats and a top tinted windscreen. Subsequent owners have added 19″ SportDesign wheels, a Porsche fitted short shift kit and Sports switch to sharpen the throttle response.
The immaculate service history is all Porsche main dealer from new to 2019, as follows:

The current owner purchased the car from us in February 2021, since when we have looked after all maintenance and repairs, with further routine servicing and maintenance as follows:
Date Mileage Works
30. 9. 21 61, 832 Minor service, front and rear brake discs and pads, rear tyres
26. 7. 23 76, 370 Major service, plugs, belt check, water pump, AC condensers, crossover pipes and coolant hoses, 4 tyres
In early 2024, the owner reported poor running and oil smoke at just over 77, 000 miles, and investigation found significant bore scoring in cylinders 5 and 6. At the time he was planning to keep the car long term, so asked us to commission Hartech to carry out a full engine rebuild. This was completed in the summer of 2024, and testing discovered a vibration that was traced to a faulty dual mass flywheel, so this was replaced along with the clutch. Total costs for all works involved £15, 127.
The owner has now decided to sell his Cayman, in the knowledge that it is now mechanically excellent and with the majority of the two year Hartech engine warranty in place. The car is in superb mechanical shape, and we have also had the wheels refurbished as they were starting to show their age. The only issues are minor cosmetic ones – the Basalt Black paintwork would benefit from some paint correction and a machine polish to remove stone chips, minor scratches and swirl marks, and the heater control buttons on the centre console are worn. Otherwise the car is excellent, and with the reassurance of a fresh Hartech rebuild, provides a great opportunity at little more than the cost of the recent works.
