Triumph introduced its first 3½hp model in 1907. It started life as a 453cc, its side-valve engine was then enlarged to 476cc and finally to 499cc in 1910 before being superseded by the 550cc 4hp model in 1914. It then befitted from a 3-speed Sturmey-Archer gearbox, it was this revised version of the 4hp Model H, that served well in WWI, with more than 30, 000 'Trusty Triumphs' seeing action with British and Allied forces.
This 1922 model H on offer has been restored to a good standard by the previous owner and has been used since. It has been carried for ever since its completion until the current owner purchased it in 2013. Since being in his ownership it has been used on many steam rallies and local events. Always maintained and kept in good order. The Triumph comes complete with a current V5c. The machine for some reason was registered in 1988, perhaps to a lapse in the new DVLA computerisation in the early 1980s.
