c. 1969 BSA 440cc B25 Starfire Special Project

BSA revamped its unitary construction singles range for 1967; the new B25 Starfire and C25 Barracuda models retaining the same basic engine layout as the outgoing C15 but with a stronger Victor-type crankcase assembly and new 'square-fin' alloy cylinder barrel.
First registered in the UK in 1994, this B25 Starfire-based 'special' has been fitted with the 440cc engine from a BSA Victor. Both the frame and engine originally formed parts of machines despatched to the USA. The current vendor acquired the machine on 20th September 2005. Interestingly, there is a map on the BSA relating to an event in Spain in 2011. Offered for restoration, the machine is incomplete, with many parts detached, and is sold strictly as viewed (the engine turns over). Accompanying documentation includes a BSA OC dating certificate; Metropolitan Police stolen/ recovered document (1998); old/ current V5C documents; and an HPI check sheet. It should be noted that the HPI states that the vehicle is yellow/ black and was previously blue/ black, while both the HPI and V5C list the frame number as 'B25S CC1405' and the frame number as 'B611649B44V8'. One key present.
