This GT750M model has a fascinating history in that it was reputedly originally owned by Heron-Suzuki and used by the press as a test motorcycle, including by Motor Cycle Mechanics for their October 1975 test report and featured on the front cover (copy included), albeit the article wasn't too positive on the forward thinking GT750. A picture of the Suzuki also appears in Roy Bacon's book for Osprey "Suzuki Two-Strokes".
When the deceased owner bought the machine in 1980 it had been fitted with a Dunstall fairing and seat-tank unit, all in black. He used it all through the 1980s and into the 1990s, including a road-trip to Eastern Europe and a number of visits to the Isle of Man Grand Prix and TT races. The bike was dismantled a few years ago and was in the process of being restored when the owner was taken ill. Offered as a project, the deceased vendor had the crankshaft reconditioned but was sadly unable to complete the restoration before his passing. He was able to source additional scarce Dunstall items such as the fairing and rear seat- tank unit in Heron-Suzuki racing colours.
