Description
A rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional example of a desirable Land Rover Series 3 lightweight.
This lightweight (military reg 31 GB 45) underwent a full ground up restoration around 2015.
All original manuals and restoration work have been documented and stored on a USB stick.
Since the work was completed minimal miles have been covered. 31 GB 45 has an interesting military history from service with the 21 SAS regiment in 1975 to a succession of units performing public guard and ceremonial duties for Royal premises in Central London.
The body is overall in great shape and all panels are remarkably straight. New door stops have been fitted. The rear tub does not show any signs of hard use and is fitted with operator chairs.
The bulkhead is very solid and has its original pressed footwells. The chassis is in great condition and requires no outriggers. The twin fuel tanks are both still in place and the change over valve works as it should. The tyres are all matching and in very good condition. The interior is all original apart from two new front seats. The engine bay has been left completely standard, including the original engine, 24 Volt system is still in place but a conversion to 12V is in use. The engine runs very well. It is the 3 bearing crank engine. During restoration the engine was rebuilt and repainted in the correct military colour.
Comes with a MOT that runs out in June 2025 but is MOT and Tax exempt.
