Chassis T825128DN is 1 of only 115 Right Hand Drive 3. 8 litre XK150 S fixed head coupes built making this a very rare Jaguar. Built on 11th January 1960 and despatched to Henlys London on 11th February 1960 before being sold on 1st March 1960 to the first owner, Patrick Talbot from Hampshire. He kept the car until 1968 before selling to the second owner, Robert Danny of Middlesex. He kept the car until 1971 when he sold it to Vivian Dixon from London. Mileage at that point was recorded at 52, 406. Vivian kept the car until it was sold in 2014 at auction for £131, 600 with the mileage recorded at 74, 553.
Registered from new with the very apt XOR 150, the car was delivered in its current livery of Sherwood Green with the very rare option of Reutter seats in suede green. In addition to this the car also was also ordered with rapid lift windows, fitted luggage, fitted twin map lights along with the standard S performance upgrades -triple SU HD8 carburettors, 15” wire wheels and an extra leaf spring in the rear suspension for more competitive handling. All these options remain with the car to this day.
During Robert Danny’s ownership the car headed a drivers parade before the 1970 British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, a framed photograph documents this along with a brass plaque. Along with the substantial history file including the buff log book, Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate and MOT certificates back to 1977.
Following its sale in 2014 to JD Classic, the current owner bought the car and then commissioned a comprehensive but sensitive restoration. The brief was to make a stunning car that the owner could tour extensively around Europe. The car received several upgrades including 5 Speed gearbox, adjustable sport suspension, disc brakes, electronic ignition, electronic power steering, cooling upgrade and 16” wheels and a modern radio with period facing. The bumpers were re-chromed, a bespoke handmade stainless steel exhaust system installed, and window rubbers replaced. Crucially the original gearbox and brakes were retained meaning the car remains full matching numbers and all improvements reversed if required.
The car has been maintained by the current owner since the completion of the restoration in 2016. Current mileage is 76, 325 and the car passed its annual MOT in June 2024 with no adversaries.
The car is offered today at a substantial discount to the current owners purchase price and reflects incredible value for a stunning and very usable, rare car with complete history.
