1957 BSA 'The Scrounger' supercharged 500cc MOTORCYCLE - All proceeds inc. buyers premium to the East Anglian Air Ambulance
Reg. No. XJW 377
Frame No. N/ A
Engine No. GB33 - 563

Built from 1985 - 1987 by Cambridgeshire motorcycle legend, Shaun Lee AKA 'Mr Clever.' A very well known show bike with many awards to its name during its short, but productive, show career. Stored for the last 30 years, the bike has recently been started up in preparation for a last showing before sale.

The frame was specially constructed by Pat O'Neal and Shaun Lee to hold water in the top tube and oil in the lower tubes. Rear suspension is by dual damped mono-shock and Mini rubber cone. Front brakes are operated by remote master cylinder with discs front and rear.
The engine is a BSA B33 single featuring a Shorrocks C75B supercharger running 12psi of boost and bespoke designed water injection. A Cosworth piston is fitted, and the internals have been polished and balanced, fed by a 1 1/ 2" SU carburettor.
Bespoke open belt-drive primary and modified Norton AMC gearbox is reportedly geared to pull 100mph at 4, 000rpm. Putting the power to the road is a custom rear wheel constructed from 2 Compomotive car wheels.
All fluids have been drained and any prospective buyers should familiarize themselves with the intricacies of this machine before attempting to start.

Featured twice in Back Street Heroes, 1987 & 2015.

Supplied with V5C and buff logbook for the BSA B33 bearing the same registration and engine number. Many trophies and the original information board from when the bike was shown publicly. The vendor is endeavouring to supply the framed 1987 article from Back Street Heroes, the glass in the frame was damaged in transit.

All proceeds to benefit East Anglian Air Ambulance, Cheffins are also donating 100% of the Buyers' Premium

Estimate: £10, 000 - £20, 000
