The 911 Targa 4S comes fitted with the rear mounted 3. 8 litre flat-six Direct Fuel Injection DFI engine that produces 385bhp and propels the all-wheel drive supercar to 60mph in under 4. 4 seconds and on to a 188mph top speed. The 997 generation 2 cars do not suffer all of the problems of early 997 generation 1 cars, including IMS bearing failures, RMS leaks and Borescoring, all of these issues were eradicated by Porsche when they designed the all-new direct fuel injection DFI 911 engines for the generation 2 997s.

Standard items include the Hill Start Assist, retractable rear spoiler, Automatic climate control, Electric windows, Headlight washers, daylight running LEDs, silver dashboard dials, dual cup holders, Remote central locking, Trip computer, PSM Traction Control, ABS, Locking wheel bolts, Locking glovebox, Alarm and Immobiliser. All equipment fitted to our 911 Targa 4S works perfectly, so the car is exactly as it left the factory in July 2010.
The optional PDLS Porsche Dynamic Cornering Bi-Xenon headlights offer exceptional brightness, even in challenging conditions. The light beam pattern actually adjusts from side to side depending on speed and steering wheel movement to light up round a corner increasing your line of sight at night.
Background
Production of the second generation 997 series 911 Targa 4S began in 2009, it featured an all new engine with Direct Fuel Injection DFI which is mounted 10mm lower in the car, revised suspension system, new front bumper with larger air intakes, LED rear and front daylight running lights, all new Porsche Communication Management PCM System with touchscreen, hard drive navigation and Bluetooth.

Exterior
Our hand selected Porsche 911 Targa 4S looks stunning in its metallic coat of Meteor Grey, a striking colour for the 997. 2, especially with the red strip reflector on the rear of the wider bodyshell. The Diamond Cut 19-inch Turbo II alloy wheels are the perfect contrast to the paintwork. The 911 Targa 4S has been machine polished and waxed with Autofinesse Soul Carnauba Wax by us, which will help protect the paintwork and repel surface contaminants. All the trim has a perfect finish, as do the front and clear rear lights, which are free from any damage or moisture buildup. We have just replaced both rear lights with new units. The windows drop as they should when you open the door. The engine and boot struts also operate as they should. The glass Targa roof operates as it should, as does the soft-close rear hatch.
Interior
The 12-way Electric leather seats come with optional drivers seat/ mirror memory, and just like the rest of the Special Order Black and Sand Beige extended leather interior, are in excellent condition and provide a perfect contrast to the Meteor Grey bodywork. The optional 12-way electric seats offer high comfort with excellent sports performance, with their adjustable lumbar support system increase comfort on long journeys. The memory function supports both exterior mirrors and all seat positions on the driver’s side. There are exclusive factory options that enhance the Targa 4S further over other examples, including Porsche Crest Embossed Headrests, Porsche Crest Embossed Centre Armrest and Stainless Steel Door Entry Guards with the Targa 4S logo etched into them. There are no marks or signs of wear to any of the trim, panels or switchgear, with the leather retaining a wholly fresh appearance throughout.
Engine and Transmission
Our 911 Targa 4S is equipped with the 3. 8 litre flat six DFI engine, which addressed all previous weaknesses of the 996 and 997 first generation engines. The 911 Targa 4S engine produces 385bhp and 310ft-lb of torque. The axle load distribution of approximately 40:60 ensures high directional stability and superb road behaviour. The engine starts cleanly when cold or hot, there is no smoke whatsoever either at startup or when driving. There are no unusual sounds or rattles when the engine is running. It is equipped with the highly desired switchable sports suspension system PASM, which includes the dashboard switch that stiffens the suspension in an instant, increasing connection to the road. PASM equipped cars also sit 10mm lower than non PASM cars. The Targa 4S is also fitted with Sport Chrono Package Plus, which adds a SPORT and SPORT PLUS button that sharpen the throttle response, decreases shift speeds, hold gears for longer and blips the throttle on downshifts whilst also adding a dashboard mounted stopwatch to add to the sporting image of the 4S. The optional 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission system provides instant changes, unleashing the power of the engine with minimal fuss. Because it has been specified in combination with Sport Chrono Package Plus, it unlocks additional shift speeds in both SPORT PLUS and LAUNCH CONTROL modes. These modes are only available with these options selected from the factory along with PDK. They enable the Targa 4S to respond and accelerate faster than the standard car, reducing the in-gear acceleration and the headline 0-60mph time by 0. 4 seconds to just 4. 4 seconds. The mechanically locking rear limited-slip differential is also a choice addition to the equipment list on this 911 Targa 4S.
Wheels, Tyres and Brakes
Our 911 Targa 4S comes fitted with the optional Diamond Cut and Meteor Grey Metallic 19-inch Turbo II lightweight alloy wheels, which are unmarked, free of damage and corrosion, having been fully refurbished by us with new centre caps. The brake callipers are finished in Guards Red with PORSCHE lettering in White. The tyres are matching Pirelli P-Zero N2 Porsche Rated high performance tyres, the rears have just been replaced by us.
