After the first series Corvettes built from 1953 to 1955 brought an American manufacturer into the sports car market, it was the second series, which made its debut in 1956, that truly earned the title of “America’s Sports Car.” The clean good looks of Harley Earl’s new design struck a chord with the American public, and it quickly outsold the older style by a margin of three to one. In addition, Zora Arkus-Duntov and Chevrolet Engineering had dramatically altered the personality of Chevrolet’s sports car with a renewed focus on performance, a growing range of powerful small-block V8s, and improved handling.

For 1958, the Corvette also added greater comfort, and its appearance was slightly revised by Harley Earl with 1958-only touches, including a louvered “washboard” hood treatment and twin chrome deck lid strips, which were consistent with the styling trends of the era. Performance continued to be emphasized, with the high-revving 283-cubic inch V8 ensuring the Corvette was highly competitive on both the street and the race track. Not surprisingly, Corvettes from this year are among the most collectible models of the first generation Corvettes to this day.

The fantastic 1958 Chevrolet Corvette 283/ 270hp Roadster featured here is finished in stunning Silver-Blue with Silver coves over a Blue-Gray interior with a Light Blue convertible top. This exquisite motorcar has been comprehensively restored to show-quality specification and is among one of the finest examples we've seen in years. This investment-grade Corvette comes with its matching numbers 283ci/ 270hp V8, is finished in a stunning color combination, and is accompanied with its original removable hardtop. Driven only a scant few miles since completion, this eye-catching Corvette is now ready to be shown or driven. We are proud to offer this gorgeous investment-grade Corvette to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best!
