We are delighted to present for sale one of the very highest specification Series 3 Land Rovers® we have sold in recent times – presented in the popular Light Pastel Green colour scheme, with Sand Canvas & Limestone Rims. We often have the privilege of selling Series Land Rovers® with a plethora of desirable upgrades, however it is very rare (as the case is here) to have all these upgrades within one package. This particular Series 3 has been local to our premises (within 50 miles) since 1985, has only had three keepers since new in 1972, and has been upgraded and maintained with no regard for cost by Washington Land Rovers®, near Newcastle. Just some of the upgrades (by no means an exhaustive list) have been outlined below.

We were able to come into ownership of this Series purely because the previous keeper, who used it as his weekend toy (stored in his garage exclusively) has become too old to be able to drive it comfortably. He has entrusted it to us as he wishes for it to find a home where it can be used and enjoyed as it deserves.
Externally, as covered above and the photos show – this is a beautiful vehicle, full of touches to really give that “wow” factor – such as the 750 tyres to fill the arches, the period touches in the bonnet mounted spare, rear grab handles and vintage plates and then the new cappings, bumper and canvas to really finish it off. Those of you who have followed our products for a period of time will know how unusual it is to find a Series 3 that looks this sharp, short of a full rebuild price.
On the inside, there are three front deluxe high back seats with deluxe matting to the footwells. A Seat Belt Bar has been fitted to give 3 point safety belts – the rear is unfitted with the exception of a load mat but could house bench seats on request for £595 to bring seating to seven people. It is nice to note the rebuild has been extended to inside too – a professionally recovered dash to avoid sun cracks and damage – as an example of the level of detail.
Out on the road, as you can imagine, this Series 3 really shines – plenty of power, twice the economy over standard, overdrive for a more relaxed cruise, 750 tyres for unrivalled off and on road ability, parabolic springs and pro comp shocks for the best possible ride – etc etc. If you are looking to purchase a Series 3 which can be used far more frequently than originally intended and designed – then this is the car to consider. The biggest possible compliment we can pay this one is that it feels more like a 90 to drive – with the improved reliability you can expect from them – and this is high praise indeed. Coupling that to the looks, the fresh galvanised cappings, fresh canvas, bumper etc – this really looks the part when “posing” through town with the shades on and the canvas rolled up!
In summary then, if you have always liked the idea of owning a Series Land Rover® from a looks perspective, but have been concerned about whether you can live with it – this is the best possible way to go about ownership. With the added bonus’ of a futureproofed chassis and bulkhead being galvanised, DI conversion for increased reliability and economy, and a plethora of extras which make ownership as civilised as humanely possible – there really isn’t much more that can be done to improve this Series 3. In our opinion, we think that this Land Rover® demonstrates superb value for money – commissioning a fresh rebuild for a similar product would cost you far more – and this is physically available today… and with MOT & Tax Exemption, it won’t cost the earth in the longer term, either. We cannot envisage this being in stock for long.
