Description
Beaulieu Garage is pleased to present this 1972 Ford Escort Mexico recreation for sale. Finished in stunning Le Mans Green, this Mexico has been renovated to an extremely high standard. Rolling off the Ford production line in 1971, and registered for the first time in 1972, this car started life as a standard 1100cc Escort, finished in Maroon. Between 2010 and 2017 the car went through an amazing transformation, into the car you see here (it's even better when seen with your own eyes). The body shell has all of the correct adjustments and additions (strengthening) to make it exactly the same as Type 49 (competition ready) shell, finished in Le Mans Green (completed by Hilton Gott Bodyshop). The engine is a lightened and balanced 1. 6 litre Burton Crossflow engine, exactly as would've been in the Mexico, married to a 4-Speed Manual Gearbox and breathing through a sports manifold and exhaust system. The interior is finished in the correct Beta Cloth, with the RS Contour seats complete with headrests. The dash has been upgraded with the Mexico 6-Dial Clocks, an RS Steering Wheel has been fitted and the period correct RS Alloy Wheels finish the transformation. The suspension has been correctly uprated and the car has Anti-Tramp Bars and an English rear axle to give it the correct feel on the road. In 2023, Bridge Classic Cars went through the car and fitted new wheel bearings, new struts and spring assemblies and new wheel studs all round. This Mexico is truly stunning. The restoration/ transformation is top notch, Mexico purists might notice but the only way to truly know is by checking the VIN. You need to come and see this car for yourself. Beaulieu Garage do offer video walk arounds using Facetime or WhatsApp. Contact us now to make an appointment to see this brilliant Mexico. You will not be disappointed.
