Here we are delighted to offer a very original example of a popular pre-war classic, sturdy and simple in design, which should provide open air family motoring at modest expense and with much enjoyment. Spares and support is readily available from the Morris Register and other enthusiasts.

Dry stored for 40 years in the Vendor’s own modern garage, this four seat tourer appears to have survived remarkably well. The green and black paintwork was applied about 40 years ago and has aged well. The correct green interior trim would seem worthy of gentle resuscitation to preserve its originality. Carpets will need replacement following a little yuletide carpentry to revive the floor. Hood and side screens are present, as is a folding luggage rack. Chrome work and metal bumpers are well preserved.

Clearly attention will be needed to service and recommission the mechanics. The Vendor insisted on the vehicle returning to his local garage for four new tyres and tubes, plus a new 6 volt battery, prior to dispatch into our care and he reports that the engine has been run very sweetly, albeit with fresh petrol introduced directly to the carburettor for a short while. Brakes and electrics are sure to need attention after such a lengthy slumber.

A glimpse of the history shows a lady owner, Margaret Molyneux of Maidenhead brought the car with her to Andover in the late 1960s and it seems to have remained in Hampshire thereafter, including the current owner’s forty year retention. MOT certificates are on file from 1968-1992, as is a V5 document and an older type V5C registration certificate together with photocopies of the RF60 continuation book from 1963.

Spares include two radiators, a fog lamp, Wind Tone horns and a front axle and there is an original Morris Eight operation manual A gentle winter’s project then to disassociate oneself from the current gloomy times, with a promise of springtime enjoyment once more in the field of Classic Motoring.
