A 1943 Dodge Step-Side Pick-up Truck that is undeniably spectacular in every way. It's incredibly loud, super fast and very, very cool!
Registered in 1946 due to the end of WW2, this piece of 1940's Americana has recently been subjected to an untold amount of work to present to you as it is seen today.
The heart of this amazing vehicle is a fully rebuilt 1974 Big Block V8 440Ci by renowned engineer David Billadeau of Billadeau Speed and Automotive. It's been over-bored to 7. 3L and 446Ci, balanced and blueprinted, fitted with Aluminium Street Heads and a fast Street Cam. This engine has then been mated to a rebuilt 727 TorqueFlight Transmission with Reverse Throttle Body. Ken Coleman of Engine Data Analysis of Castleford then Dyno'd the Truck and proved it at 496lb/ ft of Torque and 446bhp. Needless to say, this truck has serious pace!
Additional work undertaken includes: Full rebuild with Cab off, custom-made Chassis, 4-Link Suspension, new Disc Brakes, Power Steering added, custom Petrol Tank stationed over the Rear Axle to give extra traction, Ford 9" Rear Axle narrowed and strengthened by Hauser Racing Ltd, new Wheels and Tyres, custom 3" Stainless Exhaust with remotely controlled loudness, new Bench Seat upholstered in Dark Tan with matching Door Cards, new carpet, stow-away Racing Harnesses, new gauges with freshly painted interior cabin, re-chromed Grill and Bonnet Mascot.
Totally rust-free and solid throughout, this truck is very close to being 'Trigger's New Broom', despite its Rat-Rod appearance, courtesy of its expertly applied Patina paint-job, which contrasts with the luxuriously trimmed interior.
Turn the key and the noise will rattle your chest. On the move, the Truck is compliant and pleasant to drive, aided by the power steering and elevated view. Ultimately driveable, this is a show-stopper that you can drive to shows, race at the Drag Strip, or just burble around scaring your neighbourhood. Having only covered a mere 1, 200 miles since its build, this truly awesome Truck will be supplied with two keys and two Exhaust remote controls. It will be given a new no-advisory MOT and will be further subjected to our exhaustive PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) prior to sale.
