Description
The S-Klasse-Einspritzmotor-Coupé, or SEC, for short, was born in 1981 and remained in production until 1991, totaling around 74, 000 units sold!
The wide grille and small headlights set it apart from the sedan on which it was based. The profile is equally elegant. With a high waistline and low roofline, the removal of the B-pillar and the absence of lines between the windscreen and the rear window give it a truly timeless appearance.
Underneath the enormous aluminium bonnet is a torquey 3. 8 litre V8 with 205 hp. Enough to reach a top speed of 210 km/ h!
Acceleration is quick and efficient, the four-speed automatic gearbox works perfectly and the kick-down is effective when overtaking is needed. However, this magnificent coupé is not all about performance. It is the refinement and ease with which it devours kilometres of motorway that impresses.
The interior is opulent, driven by technology, comfort and quality materials. It is sumptuous without being excessive! The wood is real, the leather is made to last and there are is no noise in the cabine.
This 1983 380 SEC was sold new in Portugal, and comes with manuals and a service book stamped by the brand. A true classic, with a timeless design that can be driven like a modern car.
