Description
This is a very rare South African only Sud GTA model which was produced as a run out series in late 1983 with only 50 examples being built and just 7 now remaining around the world with collectors.
It was basically the equivalent model of the European Alfasud Ti Quadrifoglio Verde (Green Cloverleaf) model so fitted with a tuned 1490cc Boxer engine with twin carbs producing 105bhp and reaching 0-60 in 9. 5 secs, a 5 speed gearbox, Campagnolo wheels in graphite, sports steering wheel and a large rear spoiler. All South African Suds were the 4 or 5 door versions, this being the latter and a hatchback.
It has only had two previous owners in South Africa and comes with lots of service history documenting the mileage of 91, 000 km (57, 000 miles) as being genuine and correct.
Recent re-commissioning has seen it fully serviced and fitted with new tyres and battery, exhaust, radiator, timing belts, water pump, front brakes and shocks all round hence the car drives and performs very well indeed out on the road.
MOT and historic tax exempt plus ULEZ complaint.
Aside from being repainted a few years ago due to sun fade, the car is in original unrestored condition, it has never been welded and has an amazingly solid rust free shell which is rarely seen on any Alfa of this vintage, having benefitted from the dry inland climate of Gauteng Province. The paint blowover is a driver level 7/ 10, useable but not perfect. The interior has small areas of sun fade on the seat fabric in places.
This actual car was magazine featured in the Feb 2022 edition of Driven magazine see link;
