1981 MGB Roadster V8. Tartan Red with Black upholstery and red piping and black mohair roof. This fabulous Sebring styled roadster has been a real labour of love for its last keeper who undertook a full ground up restoration during lockdown with no expense spared and no stone unturned. The condition speaks for itself and is the closest you will probably get to a new MGB if you could still buy them. The car was finished in 2022 and has had limited summer use since. It was completely rebuilt from a totally bare shell, the underside of was painted with a two pack raptor coating and then painted painted body colour. The 3. 5 V8 engine was rebuilt, a new Edelbrock carburettor fitted, a new RV8 style stainless exhaust, new alternator, starter and distributor. An original SD1 5 speed box was fitted and a rear axle rebuilt by Heathrow transmissions with ratio changed to 3. 07 to accommodate the V8. New telescopic dampers on the rear along with all new brakes and suspension and front subframe powder coated. It has been fitted with front and rear Sebring style spoilers, and a "Costello" style bonnet bulge. Brand new Minilite style alloy wheels and tyres upgraded to 15” complete the look of this stunning MG. Totally retrimmed with new black Ambla upholstery, new door cards and carpets and a refurbished dashboard. The car sounds amazing with the V8 soundtrack and on the road is equally impressive with a very strong engine complimented by the 5 speed gearbox. A large history folder accompanies the car with invoices for all the parts purchased during the build all sourced from respected MG suppliers. We estimate if you were to undertake a project like this yourself the cost alone would easily be double the asking price of the car today. This is a great opportunity to acquire a very sorted MGB that will impress at any classic car show or owners club gathering and is immensely fun to drive and is certainly a head turner.
