The last-in-line air-cooled 911 Turbo, was of course an instant classic at the time it came out in 1995. Today they have become increasingly sought-after, especially the X-package cars with who received the performance upgrades from the factory. It is estimated only 183 examples were delivered new with the X50-option from the factory, like the one offered here. Delivered new to Switzerland, this Porsche 993 Turbo was purchased by a doctor in St Moritz in June 1996 and owned by him until 2013. This 911 Turbo is all the more rare and desirable in view of its X50 Werksleistungsteigerung (factory performance increase) package delivering 430bhp rather than the 417 horsepower of the standard Turbo. It also has the all-important option code 706 (Technical Changes from 1995 Turbo) which was only applicable to cars built in 1996 onwards. It is an all-matching-numbers car, as confirmed by the Certificate of Conformity in the history file.
The car was specified with virtually all possible options, the full leather interior by Porsche Exclusive being particularly worthy of note: even the window switches and seat adjustment switches are trimmed in leather from the factory. Other factory additions to the already supreme level of standard equipment include impact-damping bumpers; tinted glass; cruise control; electric sunroof; Porsche radio/ cassette; 92-litre fuel tank; lumbar-support seats; Wurzelholz (burl wood) dashboard and door trim (X87); and the dark wood package of steering wheel, gear shift, brake lever and dashboard (Y60). All options can be found on factory sticker under the bonnet and in the service book. The car also comes with a printout of the options list and confirmation of its build details.
The previous (second) owner bought the 993 Turbo from Porsche Zentrum Maienfeld in Switzerland in 2013 at 76, 850 kilometres. A technical inspection and makeover was then carried out at Porsche Classic in Stuttgart costing circa 3, 094 (invoice available). The car then underwent a full professional (glazing out) respray to the highest standard in its factory-correct black metallic (code Z8). The car's underside was dry-ice cleaned and sealed by Porsche Reading. The previous owner used and maintained the car in Sierre, Switzerland before eventually bringing it to his residence in London. The 993 was regularly serviced at Porsche main dealers in Switzerland and the UK. He used the car for only some two years, travelling approximately 7, 000 kilometres, before it passed to the current Belgian owner nearly 10 years ago.
While in the current vendor's ownership the 993 Turbo X50 has covered fewer than 1, 000 kilometres (the current odometer reading is 84, 645km). The owner had the car serviced in March 2017 and again this summer in July 2024 at 84, 600km. The detailed 11, 226 invoice for the work is on file. It should be noted that the car's nose is protected in a PPF film wrap to protect it from stone chips. The Porsche is offered with its old UK title and Belgian E705 (EU-taxes paid document); its original books, including the stamped service book and leather pouch; Certificate of Conformity; Swiss Abgas document; and two keys.
Boasting fully matching numbers, well-documented and presented in beautiful condition all round, this is a truly lovely example - as you would expect from a Swiss car - offered for sale by only its third owner and ready to be enjoyed.
