The Jaguar E-Type stands as a pivotal icon in automotive history, renowned for its stunning design and technical prowess. Originally introduced in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type stunned the world with its sleek design and revolutionary engineering. Its combination of performance, beauty, and affordability made it an instant classic, and it quickly garnered a reputation as one of the most desirable cars ever made.

Launched in 1964, the 4. 2-litre model elevated the E-Type's legacy with a powerful engine that delivers a thrilling 265 horsepower, pushing the aerodynamic car, designed by Malcolm Sayer, to an astonishing top speed of 150 mph. It wasn't just one of the fastest cars of its era; it was a statement of engineering excellence.

Technically, the E-Type 4. 2 FHC featured several advancements, including an all-synchromesh gearbox, improved braking system, and more comfortable seats, which collectively elevated the driving experience. Its monocoque body, four-wheel disc brakes, and independent rear suspension were groundbreaking, setting new standards in automotive engineering and revolutionizing automotive design.

More than just a car; the Jaguar E-Type is a cultural icon. The sixties roared with its presence, and it quickly became a symbol of British elegance and style. Enzo Ferrari himself dubbed it "the most beautiful car ever made," a testament to its timeless design. Celebrities and sports stars flocked to own one, embedding it deeply in pop culture.

Delivered new to the United States on June 9, 1965, this stunning Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4. 2 Fixed Head Coupé was first registered in New Orleans. Imported in 2011 in Germany by the previous owner, the car was fully restored and retains its matching chassis, engine and gearbox numbers and has been repainted in its original and highly elegant "Opalescent Golden Sand" colour.

The current owner, since 2015, an enthusiastic driver who enjoys driving frequently, has meticulously refined the car, enhancing its reliability by addressing the cooling and fuel systems, adjusting the valve clearances and carburetors, and thermally insulating the cabin.

The meticulously maintained car has passed several technical inspections since its arrival in France and will be accompanied by several invoices from the Atelier Automobile and Orhès Racing, as well as its Jaguar Heritage certificate, its current French carte grise, a former German title, and a photocopy of an old registration document from the late 1960s in Louisiana.

The Jaguar E-Type Series 1 is not merely a car but a landmark in automotive and social history. Its technical innovations, coupled with its cultural impact, ensure its place as a celebrated and enduring symbol of automotive excellence.
