"It's the new pinnacle of McLaren's Sport Series range, the 570S's harder, sharper, faster cousin: 96kg lighter, 23 per cent new parts, a car to follow in the footsteps of the fabulous 675LT. It's the McLaren 600LT." - Top Gear.

Announced in June 2018, the McLaren 600LT supercar was a new addition to the British company's 'Sport Series' range, the first example of which – the 570S – had been launched in 2015. It was the fourth 'Longtail' model introduced by McLaren, following the 675LT Coupé and Spider and the car that inspired the 21st Century Longtail concept: the legendary McLaren F1 GTR Longtail sports-racing prototype of 1997, only nine of which were produced. In 600LT form the body was extended and extensively revised to incorporate enhanced aerodynamics: the front splitter, rear diffuser, side sills and fixed rear wing being new. The carbon-fibre body tub was modified, and the use of this lightweight composite material extended to the roof and other panels, resulting in a weight saving of 96kg, while one of the 600LT's most striking features was the top-exit titanium exhaust system. Another 30kg was shaved off the suspension, wheels, tyres and brakes for a total weight of 1, 356kg, while various changes were made to the suspension settings. Inside the relatively spartan, track-focused interior there were fixed-back bucket seats (from the P1) and acres of Alcantara trim. The Senna's lightweight carbon seats were available as an option.

For the 600LT, McLaren's 3. 8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 was specified with different camshafts and a remapped ECU, producing an additional 30 horsepower to bring the maximum available to 600 hp hence the model's name. Performance figures of 0-100km/ h in 2. 9 seconds and a top speed of 328km/ h were claimed.

Driving the 600LT, Top Gear found its handling even more impressive than that of the 675LT from the Super Series: "This is the main thing that differentiates the 600LT to any rival... The accuracy and response is such that time seems to slow down during a corner. You have the ability to make corrections many times, to feel how the car reacts and adjust again several times in one corner. It's uncanny. It's akin to a Caterham."

First registered in Germany on 8th September 2020, this example was ordered in rare MSO Supernova Silver Metallic. In addition to its extensive standard equipment, features notable specification highlights including:

Carbon Black and Midnight Blue interior trim
McLaren Senna Carbon seats
Manually adjustable steering column
Air conditioning
MSO six-point safety harnesses
McLaren 4-speaker audio and navigation system
McLaren track telemetry with lap time function
Vehicle tracking system
Rear view camera with parking sensors

Having covered 'delivery mileage' only of a trifling 13 kilometres, this fabulous McLaren supercar is presented in 'as new' condition throughout, with its German registration document and a photocopy of the manufacturer's Certificate of Conformity.

Please note this lot will be subject to additional VAT on the hammer price.
