Description
NEW ARRIVAL According to the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust factory record, this lovely MGB MKII Roadster - Chassis No: G-HN4/ 161819-G and Engine No: 18GG-RWE-H/ 1400 is a 'Matching Numbers' car and was built by BMC in Cowley & Abingdon between 22nd November and 2nd December 1968 and despatched for export to South Africa on 3rd December 1968 and registered there on 26th April 1969. When it was built it was finished in Snowberry White with Black trim and came with an Overdrive Gearbox, Wire Wheels, Heater, Black Tonneau Cover, Foldaway Hood, Oil Cooler and Headlamp Flasher Switch, all of which it retains today with the exception of being repainted in Tartan Red at some point during its life in South Africa. We purchased this car directly from the owner in South Africa in November 2022 and registered the car with the age related (1969) registration plate DVG 993G and after carrying out various recommissioning works on the car, we sold it to the current owner early last year. The car is in beautiful rust-free condition throughout with really nice paintwork, excellent chrome trim, a lovely Engine and Gearbox with Overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears and quite honestly, there is nothing to do apart from drive it and enjoy it! It also had a brand new Black vinyl Soft Top and hood frame last summer, so this is in excellent condition. The car is only being sold by the current owner due to starting a family and needing something a little more practical. Upon sale the car will come with our own customer care package including a new MOT (although exempt), pre sales Service, HPI/ provenance Checks, 55-point pre-delivery inspection and 6 months mechanical breakdown Parts & Labour Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required. NB: Photo's shown are from last summer before the new soft Top was fitted, so some new photo's of the car with the new roof will follow shortly. Car on display @ our showrooms in Mortlake, SW London.
