What of bundle of joy this is. Fantastic micro-car that puts the biggest smile on your face. As a historic vehicle it is a fab little motor to run around London as theres no need to pay ULEZ or road tax.
They were sold in the tens of thousands so many will have seen these before. But, for those who need a quick history lesson…. It was built by Messerschmitt , who were one of the biggest manufacturers of German aircraft during WW2. Following the war and the subsequent sanctions against the German military, it meant Messerschmitt were not allowed to build aircraft and so they turned their attention to automobiles, focussing solely on ‘micro-cars’.
They first introduced the KR175 in 1953 and then in 1955 they replaced it with the KR200 which continued production all the way to 1964.
Our car is the KR200 which is the biggest engine example they did. A whopping 200cc which created a maximum speed 56 mph. Which is plenty for a car the size of a fridge.
We came across this car when a micro-car collector got in touch. This one was one of the families’ favourites and was owned by a father-in-law for many years up and until 2023 when it was then registered to the son-in-law.
Underwent a complete ground-up restoration some years ago, including the interior, exterior, chassis, and engine. The car has been repainted in its original colour, and as far as we are aware, everything remains original.

This unique car starts and drives as it should. The mileage of 60, 000 miles is believed to be genuine, although it cannot be verified it is incredible it has been used and enjoyed so much. We are also told it has been garaged throughout its life and its hard to disagree.
