MGB Roadster: 42 Years of Ownership/ Warranted 83K Miles
The original MGB Roadster is one of the most recognisable British sports cars ever manufactured. It brought affordable fun to the open road when launched in 1962 and today the later rubber bumper cars are an excellent & cost effective choice for anyone looking for roof down classic car ownership.
Milestone Classics are always looking for nice MGB’s and we were delighted when this local 1977 example appeared on the radar in part exchange for our Jaguar XKR.
Originally sold by Carlton Garages during October 1977 to "A. Tomei Ltd" based in The Strand the MG passed to Nick, the third and last owner, in December 1982.
Initially purchased for open top motoring fun (and also to impress his girlfriend) both objectives were happily achieved and the good lady accepted his proposal and the car was used as transport on their wedding day.
Indeed, the MG featured in another family marriage when the car was driven by Dad when he took their daughter to her own wedding.
During Nick’s ownership the car was used initially as an everyday car and latterly as a classic for high days and holidays.
The 'B' has always been maintained regularly over the years and received a full respray in the original British Racing Green around 30 years ago. This has stood the test of time extremely well and still looks very sharp with excellent panel fit.
The interior seats, carpets, dashboard and hood are all good and everything works exactly as it should.
The history folder contains the original Passport to Service with service 10 stamps, MOT’s back to 1982, original Drivers Handbook, old V5’s, invoices etc.
Jamie and I really like this MG. Looking sharp and ready to drive anywhere it is the perfect introduction to classic car motoring and will provide years of pleasure and many happy memories to the lucky new custodian.
