Beautiful 750 SS recreation
Created around an 860 GTS
Part of a small collection
Current V5c on file
Following their success at the 1972 Imola 200 when Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari had achieved a first and second place with machines developed from the recently introduced 750cc GT bevel drive V-twin, Ducati were quick to announce a more obviously sporting model in the form of the 750cc Sport, this was followed in 1974 by the Desmo-equipped production racer, the 750cc Super Sport. This machine is an evocation of that model.
On offer is a wonderful recreation of the famous Ducati 750 SS This is based around a Ducati 860 GTS which was in very good condition to start with and was a one-owner machine. The vendor's late father set about doing the recreation as he could never afford the real thing. The Ducati was completely stripped and overhauled where necessary and converted into a 750 SS and the end result has turned out very well. The Ducati has been part of a small collection and has not been used on the road for a short time and will need the usual checks before placing it on the road. It comes complete with a current V5c, copies of the old logbook, and some receipts for parts.
