Description
The Autobianchi A112, the Mini of Italy. Like its British competitor, the compact and practical car was designed for everyday practicality with a good price/ performance ratio. From 1977, the small car was offered on foreign markets as a Lancia. This was purely marketing, as the parent company Fiat thought it would complete the Lancia fleet. And what would a mass-produced vehicle be without a sports version from the in-house racing department? In parallel, tuned "Abarth" versions with more power and a sporty look were also built. The extremely light and manoeuvrable Abarth quickly became popular in motorsport, especially in hill climbs, rallies and slaloms. The short wheelbase, the direct steering and the lively four-cylinder engine turned the 112 into a nervous cannonball. This Abarth 70 HP from the seventh and last series is from the first Swiss delivery. The car is in a very beautiful and untouched original condition. The car is discreetly lowered and stands on contemporary OZ Racing aluminium rims. Original springs and rims are present. 70 hp doesn't sound like much at first, but it's more than enough for the less than 700 kg. It also handles like it's on rails when cornering. In short: it's simply great fun! It also has the sound that befits an Abarth. The beautiful A112 in 'Bianco Corfu' was registered as a veteran in August 2024. A beautiful example, the likes of which are no longer to be found very often.
