Presented in truly exceptional condition and having averaged 1, 236 miles/ yr since 2003 and an incredible 122 miles since purchase from one of the UK's leading BMW classic specialists in 2021 this remarkable E39 530i Sport has been utterly cherished by one of the most fastidious, detailed and discerning enthusiasts we've met, a wonderful chap with whom we've had to promise that 'we'll find right home' for his prized classic and were only allowed to collect it if brought our fully enclosed trailer!
Taking a tour around this E39 530i Sport it's not often we're left shaking our heads in disbelief, 40 years of experience of accessing cars, modern and classic and to be able to utter the phrase, 'the best we've ever seen!' having retailed similar examples of the marque at 3-5 years old, we can genuinely say this incredible 21 year old E39 surpasses them all! Highly detailed, evidenced from viewing the door shuts / backs of wheels etc she's devoid from all but the odd-spec of dust; window rubbers are like new (not a nick or evidence of shrinkage), the bodywork / panels / lenses / glass appear just as they left the Dingolfing plant, the 17" Style 66 alloys are simply immaculate shod with near full tread Michelin PS4 tyres....... we can't say she's 'like new'..... but oh she's very close indeed!
Open the doors and the majesty continues. Being a M Sport package car, she features the Alcantara / Cloth trim, the M Sport anthracite roof lining and with figure hugging sports seats to front driver & passenger, full electrical adjustment and memory pack to drivers seat and with the M sports steering wheel, electrically adjustable too it's a virtual impossibility to not find the perfect driving position, after-all BMW are still regarded as the 'Ultimate Driving Machine' a phrase coined 40 years ago and still valid today! With switch gear perfectly positioned, it's typically Germanic...... quality, function, form as it should be...... we're trying to be neutral, but when it's this nice, the temptation to just turn the key and drive for 100's of miles is difficult to resit!
Mechanically, the M54 3. 0 litre injection straight six engine is just a jewel and will purr effortlessly all day, in fact on tick-over it's almost easy to think she's not running, she's whisper quiet. The driving experience is without fault and hardy surprising as this beauty has been serviced four times by BMW - 6534 miles, 15, 696 miles, 16, 983 miles, 19, 142 miles and then twice further independently - 22, 193 miles and 25, 854 miles and naturally ahead of leaving us she'll be fully inspected, she'll receive another oil / filter service (purely on time) and will come with a 12 month advisory free MOT.
