1973 Jaguar E Type Series 3 V12 Roadster Manual.

This beautiful, original right hand drive, manual gearbox, Signal red E type has had just one owner from new.

Supplied by' Byatts of Fenton Ltd' in Stoke on Trent on the 15/ 09/ 1973 the car stayed local to them during its 51 years ownership in the Midlands.

Used and maintained regularly until 1991 when the car was entrusted with one of the best known Jaguar car dealers and independent Jaguar specialist in the Midlands 'Phillips Garage' in Birmingham. Founded by Mr Harry Philipps in 1961, a founder member and president of the Jaguar specialists association who also enjoyed huge success racing Jaguar saloons and E Types in formular 5000 events attaining championship victories.

The car underwent a full body restoration and full re-paint in original Signal red. The interior was re-trimmed. The hood frame was serviced, shot blasted and re painted, the original cover was retained. The electrical and fuel systems were overhauled. New rear radius arms were fitted along with a complete exhaust, alternator, ball joints, fuel lines, wheel bearings, rear discs, water pump and the carburettors were overhauled plus much more. The invioices total over £15, 000, a substantial amount of money 33 years ago!

Since the car was restored it has covered less then 6500 miles. It was further treated to a major service by 'Concours Motor Company' in Solihul in 2014 including new shock absorbers, suspension bushes, brake discs and pads at a cost of £2000.

The car presents today very much as one would imagine in leaving 'Phillips Garage' after its restoration. It was rust proofed upon completion which has certainly preserved the car in its beautiful condition displayed today. The highly polished Signal red paintwork is absolutely stunning with a gorgeous depth of shine. protected 'Auto Glym extra protection polish. The panels are exceptional and the chrome is as new. The interior is superb with as new leather seats and foams, excellent carpets, door cards, dashboard, switch gear and gauges. Original working 'Phillips' working radio cassette.

The underbonnet, as always one of the most admired views of a V12 E Type is beautiful. Obviously very well cared for and immaculately clean and original. The front subframe has never been re-painted, still wearing its original paint.

The underside is exceptionally clean, solid and well rust protected. The underside of the boot floor still retains its red paintwork.

Five brand new 205 70 R15 'Pirelli' tyres have just been fitted. New oil, filter, air filters, fuel filter and spark plugs have just been fitted. The independent rear suspension has recently been overhauled.

In the leather bound history file, we have detailed invoices, receipts for works carried out over the years, old phtographs, and the original wallet containing the Jaguar 'Passport to service' book with service stamps, operating maintenance and service booklet, lubrcation and maintenance chart and sales and service facilities in the UK booklet.

I have personally enjoyed driving this E Type a couple of hundred miles. It drives superbly with a super sounding engine and smooth gearbox and clutch. It has just ticked over 100, 000 miles which for a 51 year old classic Jaguar is very acceptable and 100% genuine, unlike many with dubious pasts and numerous owners.

Although classed as a historic vehicle benefitting from free road tax and Mot exemption, we will supply the car with a full 12 months Mot for your peace of mind.
